‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Will Cane’s Defamation Lawsuit Prove Disastrous For Newman Enterprises
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: The Article On Cane And His Father Lacked Credible Sources
Cane threatened to sue the Newman family company for publishing their hit piece on Cane’s late father, Colin Atkinson (Tristian Rogers).
The article was based solely on the letter Victor discovered, which incriminated Colin and detailed how he duped Madame Deleone under the alias Lord Jeremy Edgerton.
Colin used the money and estate he received to fund Cane’s Arabesque company. If there is any merit to the article, Cane built his empire with ill-gotten gains.
In the October 10th episode of Y&R, Cane barged into Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) office and revealed that he planned to file a lawsuit against Newman Media.
Adam has been eager to solidify his role in the Newman family and prove himself to his father. He’s gone above and beyond to demonstrate his loyalty.
The article he and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) wrote about Cane and his father may do more harm than good.
There was no confirmation regarding Victor Newman’s (Eric Braden) claims about Colin. It also has yet to be proven whether Cane even knew about Colin swindling the fortune out of Madame Deleone.
Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton) and Cane believe that Colin’s tune had changed just before he passed away. He wanted to make amends for his numerous misdeeds.
That said, Colin pulling off one final con isn’t too hard to imagine. He was always in it for a good score. However, there really is no evidence or credible sources to back up the piece on Cane and his father.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Cane’s Lawsuit Could Topple The Newmans
Cane could potentially launch a lawsuit that could bring Newman Media to its knees. He is a billionaire with the power, wealth, and means to bury Victor’s company.
Cane could drag Newman Enterprises through the court system, ruin the Newmans’ legacy, and bankrupt their fortune.
When Cane threatened Adam and Chelsea, they brushed it off. Cane warned that a new story could affect their reputation in Genoa City.
The Newmans neglected to do their due diligence and fact-check the article. Adam insisted that the company would easily take on a lawsuit.
He also promised that a new story was coming that would irrevocably damage the Newman empire. Victor had approved the exposé, which, in the end, could topple the Newmans.
Adam and Chelsea felt they had already won, but if their story is proven as false, it would shatter the Newmans’ credibility.
The article didn’t describe Cane in a positive light. It made Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) even more furious with Cane than she already was. Cane has been desperate to regain his family’s good graces.
It seems that Victor abuses his power and takes advantage of his status and company role to slander his enemies.
There is also another threat to the Newmans that Cane has up his sleeve: he apparently has an AI software program that could harm the company.
A lawsuit against the Newmans could finally facilitate what some fans have waited a long time for: the downfall of the Great Victor Newman.
