ITV Emmerdale star’s transformation stuns fans as they say ‘I can’t get used to it’
An Emmerdale star’s transformation has stunned fans as they said, “I can’t get used to it”.
ITV soap viewers will know that village doctor Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) made his debut back in 2014 and has been at the centre of some gripping storylines every since.
His daughter, Leanna (Mimi Slinger), was notably murdered by serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) in 2021, and last year, Liam began a relationship with child killer Ella Forster (Paula Lane), before having an affair with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), his current fiancée.
Liam was also involved in the soap’s huge limo crash in February, which resulted in the deaths of Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough).
The GP recently faced a health challenge of his own when he was tested for prostate cancer after experiencing worrying symptoms. The results later came back negative, much to the relief of his family.

In recent scenes, Liam was stunned to discover that Robert Sugden’s (Ryan Hawley) prison husband, Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill), had been lying about having a terminal illness.
Kev soon threatened Liam into silence, warning: “I know it, and you know it. As my GP, that’s how it stays, doesn’t it? Between us.
“You’re a clever fella. You’re not about to go making trouble for yourself, are you?”
Kev added: “Because if my husband were to get a whiff of this, well, then me and you would have a problem. And you don’t want to have a problem with me, do you?”
Emmerdale fans have been left speechless after Liam recently debuted a freshly shaven face on the soap, a far cry from his signature beard and moustache.

ITV viewers quickly took to social media to share their shock at the star’s transformation.
“Doesn’t Liam look so different with no beard! Keep thinking it’s a different character on screen. Very smart though I must say,” one person wrote on a Facebook fan page.
Another added: “Yes I was thinking the same thing. He looks so different,” while a third said: “I can’t get used to it! He looks so different without it.”
Emmerdale ended on a huge cliffhanger last night (Wednesday, November 12) as Liam accidentally exposed a lie Robert told to Kev.
However, fans will have to wait until Friday to catch up with the villagers as the ITV soap makes way for football coverage tonight (November 13).
