Dean Andrews joined the ITV cast back in 2019, playing Will Taylor, the father of Dawn (Olivia Bromley). And it didn’t take him long to find himself involved in some drama.

He notably married Kim Tate (Claire King) in 2022 and their relationship had its fair share of ups and downs. However, on Christmas Day 2024, Will died from a heart attack triggered by a row between him and Kim.

As fans will recall, Kim and Will had rekindled their romance, after months of being at war. Wanting to move on, Kim even suggested that she and Will renew their vows on Christmas Day.

However, Kim had no idea that Will was working with her former financial advisor Peter (David Michaels), in a bid to bring her down, as well as Joe Tate (Ned Porteous). The truth eventually came out on Christmas Day and tragically, Will suffered a heart attack and died.

Since his Emmerdale exit, actor Dean has kept himself busy as he has recently been filming something over in Spain. On Tuesday (November 11) Dean took to his Instagram to confirm he had finished a job.

One person wrote: “Lovely pic good luck in your next role.” Someone else added: “Love Dean great actor miss him in Emmerdale.” A third chimed in: “Looking stunning there.”

Earlier this year, Dean broke his silence on his soap exit in a video he shared to Instagram. The TV star told fans he loved working with his ”little family on Emmerdale” and called them “really lovely people”.

He also noted that he felt it was time for him to “move on” and was looking forward to what 2025 had to offer. Then, taking a ‘swipe’ at ITV bosses, Dean said he was sorry for not doing a farewell video, before whispering: “I wasn’t asked!”

He captioned the video: “Just a quick message from me to thank you all and to quash any rumours regarding my character. Have a wonderful 2025 and hopefully see you on the other side.”
