Emmerdale fans speechless as they spot Ray Walters star in beloved ITV drama
Emmerdale fans were left speechless as they spotted Ray Walters star Joe Absolom in a beloved ITV drama.
ITV soap viewers will know that drug dealer Ray first arrived in the Dales earlier this year when Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) rang him about purchasing Lewis Barton’s (Bradley Riches) cannabis crop.
It was later revealed that Ray was involved with youngster Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle), after he got him to break into Butlers Farm to scope out the property.
April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) has since been lured into Ray and his evil mother Celia Daniels’ (Jaye Griffiths) trap, as she tries to pay off her boyfriend’s never-ending debt.
That’s not all, as it was also confirmed that Ray and Celia have been keeping Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) captive on their farm.

Over three months ago, Bear was welcomed by Ray and given lodgings in exchange for hard labour, but he soon became trapped in a harrowing situation.
Bear was repeatedly manipulated by his captors, and sustained a severe injury which Ray refused to get treated.
The standalone episode surrounding Bear also featured an appearance from newcomer Anya (Alia Al-Shabibi). The pair formed a sweet relationship, but a series of events soon spelled trouble for both victims.
Bear’s son, Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), has been left worried for his father in recent scenes, but a could a revelation in Friday’s (November 14) episode change the course of the storyline?
As Ray continues to wreak havoc across the village, some fans have been left shocked after realising that actor Joe once starred in ITV’s hit medical drama Doc Martin.

Joe notably played Al Large in the beloved series from 2004 to 2022. Al was the son of Bert Large (Ian McNeice). He worked with his father as a plumber, and later in Bert’s restaurant.
Al was notably in a relationship with Doc Martin’s (Martin Clunes) secretary Pauline Lamb (Katherine Parkinson), before getting together with Morwenna Newcross (Jessica Ransom). The pair got married at the end of season nine, with Joe Penhale (John Marquez) officiating the nuptials.
Taking to social media, Emmerdale fans have shared their surprise at Joe’s former role, with one person writing on a Facebook fan page: “Just turned over the TV and our lovely gangster is on Doc Martin. I love this guy.”
“Omg I’d forgotten about this! I much prefer his character in Doc Martin. He is a great actor but I don’t like him playing nasty blokes,” another added, while a third said: “Aww he was brilliant in that show.”
A fourth fan echoed the sentiment, saying: “How am I just realising this? He looks so young! Love him.”
