Kelvin Fletcher prepares for new arrival as he details ‘important time’
Back in 2021, former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher and his family made the decision to purchase a 120-acre Cheshire farm.
They’ve been chronicling their agricultural adventure on their ITV programme, Fletcher’s Family Farm, ever since.
The family endured a heartbreaking period earlier this year when a blaze tore through their property, forcing them to evacuate their home temporarily.
But Kelvin and wife Liz have returned to their beloved farm and are throwing themselves back into rural life with gusto.
During Thursday’s episode of Lorraine, the couple updated the ITV presenter on their activities following the devastating fire.
Liz shared: “You’ve just got to keep carrying on and we have done! We’ve expanded on the cows, we’ve expanded on the sheep.”
“We’ve had a bit of romance at the farm. We’ve had our very first wedding, which was beautiful and there’s so much more to come.”
Kelvin then disclosed that fresh arrivals are expected at the farm come spring, as breeding season is currently underway, reports the Mirror.
He quipped: “Speaking of sheep, this is now mating season as you mentioned before. I have to be clear, that’s not me and Liz! That is for the sheep.
“We’re getting the tup ready because we’re already looking ahead to springtime when we will be expecting some lambs. So, the important time now is with our male sheep and getting them ready to go out there and meet the females.”
While fans will need to wait several months to witness fresh developments on the farm, they can keep up with the latest happenings through their programme, which is currently airing its third series.
Nevertheless, the duo hinted at thrilling projects on the horizon, including a standalone special and festive programming to celebrate the Christmas period.
Speaking to Lorraine, Liz expressed her enthusiasm for their upcoming programme, Fletcher’s Country Workshop, explaining it would give audiences insight into aspects of farming life that don’t typically get the spotlight.
She continued: “We’re renovating, restoration, baking traditional recipes and who doesn’t love decorations and painting. I’m absolutely obsessed with it.
“We do get to see that side on the farm and I’m so excited, that’s out in December. It’s a one-off show and I can’t wait for everybody to see it.”
Kelvin interjected: “Speaking of Christmas, we’ve just come back from filming a Christmas special. So, I won’t give no spoilers here, I’ll get in trouble!”
“But, we’ve just been filming a Christmas special in preparation for our own Christmas event here.”
