Emmerdale confirms ‘harrowing’ episode with ‘lasting impact’ on two characters
Emmerdale is set to deliver a powerful and unmissable special episode on Friday, which will have a ‘lasting impact’ on two characters.
The new storyline, which will focus on April Windsor and Dawn Fletcher, is set to be filled with “tension, danger, and emotional” scenes as the duo “navigate harrowing challenges that will leave a lasting impact”.
April, played by Amelia Flanagan, finds herself entangled in a scary and dangerous situation as she attempts to pay off her mounting debts to Celia Daniels and Ray Walters.
It’s not long until Ray pressurises the youngster into a particularly dangerous task, leading to a terrifying encounter as April desperately struggles for survival.
Meanwhile, it’s not just April who is the focus of the episode as Dawn, played by Olivia Bromley, opens up about her own traumatic past.

Dawn’s past draws similarities to April’s current predicament as she bravely recalls her past experiences and vows to protect her daughter, Clemmie, played by Mabel Addison.
Later, as April grapples with the aftermath of her ordeal, Dawn’s own past “serves as a stark reminder of the cycles of vulnerability and the fight for a better future”.
Talking about the upcoming episode, Dawn star Olivia, 29, said: “This episode is really important because Dawn didn’t have a stable family or homelife, which she explains to Joe in this episode, and you can really see how she got herself into such a difficult situation for so many years.
“But what’s interesting with April is, she has such a wonderful family, and the world really is her oyster – she’s got a stable loving home, she’s at school and yet she’s still managed to go down this path.”

Celia, a spirited farmer, was introduced to viewers of the ITV soap earlier this year as Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J Robb) neighbour.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Celia was recently unmasked as the mastermind behind the local drug operations led by Ray (Joe Absolom), revealing a much darker side to her character.
Demonstrating her violent and domineering nature, Celia slapped teenager April and issued a stern warning about the rules of drug trafficking.
This threat followed an incident where April’s brother Leo ended up in hospital after consuming an ecstasy pill that April had inadvertently dropped while on her way to meet Ray.
